Richard is a Consultant to Carter Real Estate and is the former Managing Director of the business, being the third generation of his family to carry that role.

Richard’s career at Carter Real Estate commenced over 40 years ago in 1972 after he completed an Economics Degree at Monash University. He then went on to obtain his valuations and estate agent’s licence qualifications from RMIT.

During his extensive career, Richard served on the Board of the REIV for 10 years including one year as President (1992-1993). He also served for three years as a member of the Estate Agents Council. He has served on numerous REIV committees, notably as Chairman of the Legislation, Town Planning and Documentation Committees. Richard was awarded Honorary Life Membership of REIV in October 2008.

Richard is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable agents in Melbourne. An auctioneer since 1976, he is also the most accomplished auctioneer in the area.

He has been a member of the Board of Management of Donwood Community Aged Care Services Inc. since 2008 and has served as President since October 2011.
